May, 2018: Full Moon in Sagittarius

There is a Full Moon in Sagittarius this Tuesday (May 29th, 2018) – an uplifting and adventurous Full Moon in the realm of Sagittarius!

The Full Moon is a time of culminating energies and experiences, when things come to a head or climax in our ever-revolving personal storylines.

When the Moon is in Sagittarius, we’re likely to feel restless and more open to change and new experiences.

Mercury in Gemini

At the same time that our closest luminary is in full beam, Mercury ventures into Gemini, following close behind the Sun (Happy birthday, Gemini!).

Mercury rules our mental faculties, technology, travel and communication. While in Gemini, a sign Mercury rules, we are especially quick on our toes. We enjoy sharing, broadcasting our ideas, and getting deep into engaging conversations.

Grand Trines in Fire & Water

There’s a beautiful arrangement in the heavens, known as a Grand Trine, a triangular formation of planets all in Fire signs. This sparky arrangement includes the wounded healer, Chiron, in self-determining Aries, the North Node of our future destiny in creative Leo, and of course the darling Moon of our most intimate leanings in adventurous Sagittarius.

This Full Moon in Sagittarius with a Grand Fire Trine makes for a wonderful opportunity to use exercise as a means to heal our body and prepare ourselves mentally and emotionally for the future that is now unfolding.

There is also a Grand Water Trine occurring between Venus in Cancer, Jupiter in Scorpio, and Neptune in Pisces, revving up all matters of emotional intimacy.

Jupiter Retrograde until July 10

Optimistic and expansive Jupiter continues to explore his shadow side as he goes retrograde through deep Scorpionic waters, challenging us to examine our self-limiting beliefs and dark side.

When a planet is retrograde, it’s apparent movement is backwards in its usual path around the Sun. It moves slower as it revisits areas of the zodiac where it’s already been. We know this movement to be a visual illusion from our vantage point on the Earth, but as our experience is as Earth-bound beings, we take this to be symbolically significant to us mortals.

Mars Retrograde in Aquarius/Capricorn

Mars is in his retrograde shadow zone soon. He will be retrograde from June 26 – August 27. This will be a time to slow down, rethink your desires and overall direction in life, and to rebuild your strength for future “battles.”

Mars is conjunct the South Node in Aquarius now, indicating the need for acceptance of the way things have been, actively letting go, and releasing tension that has been mounting lately.

Saturn continues his retrograde period as well. Remember that you have control over your own inner state and reactions. No one else has control over this but you.

Looking forward, the Last Quarter Moon will be in Pisces on June 6th, 2018. After the Full Moon, our story-line begins to wane and loose ends are starting to wrap up, but by the Last Quarter Moon we should have a clear picture of what this whole Moon cycle has been about for us. From here until the New Moon in Gemini on June 13, we can reflect on what has come up for us and prepare for the next cycle.

Until next time. Hope you enjoy the Full Moon in Sagittarius for all the fire and oomph that it brings you in your endeavors.

  1. Thank you, Natalie! I have definitely been feeling the Sag moon these last few days, with a new fire burning strong for transformation. Wondering how that Jupiter backslide is going to pan out now!
